About LD

"Music is the soundtrack of everyone's life, and I'm grateful for every opportunity to share my music with others." — LD Hill

LD Hill is a professional musician, songwriter, and producer with more than 40 years of experience in the entertainment, television, and film industries. As the founder of HDMFilm/Music, LD has built a career defined by versatility, dedication, and a lifelong passion for creating music that connects with audiences.

Born and raised in Azle, Texas, LD picked up his first guitar at the age of eight. By thirteen, he was already performing professionally in bars and honky-tonks along the Jacksboro Highway, developing the authentic country style and stage presence that would become the foundation of his career.

At seventeen, LD entered military service, serving as a Corpsman with the U.S. Navy and Fleet Marine Force. After returning home, he immersed himself in the North Texas music scene, performing with numerous bands throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth area before earning an audition with country music legend David Allan Coe. That opportunity opened the door to performances alongside celebrated artists including Charlie Pride, Wendell Adkins, and Johnny Paycheck.

During the 1990s, LD performed in Branson, Missouri, at the renowned Loretta Lynn Theater, backing artists such as Jerry Reed, Mickey Gilley, Michael Twitty, Debbie Campbell, and many others. He has also appeared as a guest performer on the Grand Ole Opry on three occasions, adding another milestone to his distinguished career.

Beyond the stage, LD has extensive experience in television and media production. He served as Production Manager for the Washington Post's operations in Oklahoma City, overseeing video production for television and radio broadcasting. His broadcasting career also included work as a storm chaser for KFOR-TV Channel 4 in Oklahoma City. His achievements in media production have earned him two Telly Awards for outstanding video production, while his musicianship was recognized with a Terry Award as North Texas Guitarist of the Year.

Today, LD is based in Fort Worth, Texas, where he performs full-time as lead guitarist and vocalist with the Raised Right Men of Denton, Texas, delivering the classic country hits audiences know and love. When not performing, he can often be found in his studio writing, recording, and producing original music, as well as composing music for television and film projects.

This website serves as a home for LD's original music—a place where listeners, creators, and fellow music lovers can explore his work. Whether you're looking for original songs, music for film and television, or simply want to connect, LD welcomes you to reach out and enjoy the music.
